The role

At Tempo, we're all about practice and low pressure. We encourage kids to explore the arts with comfort, warmth, and curiosity — and as teachers, it's our job to create a space where students feel safe to try, grow, and want to come back each week.

You'll lead our weekly drama classes for kids and teens — acting games, improv, character work, and scene study — building toward live Showcase performances. Classes run Tuesday afternoons and evenings at our studio on Hurontario Street, with room to grow alongside the program.

“Relationships matter more than perfection.” That's the kind of room we want a drama teacher to help us build.

What you'll do

  • Plan and lead fun, age-appropriate drama classes (ages 6+)
  • Create a warm, welcoming space where kids feel safe to try
  • Guide students toward a mid-term and term-end Showcase performance
  • Keep things warm and clear with families along the way
  • Show up reliably and on time each week

Who you are

  • You love working with kids and lead with kindness
  • Experience in drama, theatre, or performing-arts education — formal training or lived experience both count
  • Playful, patient, and organized
  • Comfortable guiding a room of energetic young performers
  • Able to provide a clear Vulnerable Sector (police) check
